About Cunning Artes by Steve Madog
Cunning Artes is the name I have given to my own unique style of art.
I specialised in creating bespoke and commissioned jewellery as well as making magical artefacts for occult practitioners. My jewellery represents this work in miniature, making these creations wearable works of art.
Along with my miniature creations and my full sized artefacts and sculptures I also made the Glastonbury Dragons.
All creations, whether bespoke, or cast, are created through master craftsmanship learned over many years. Each piece is meticulously hand finished to an exceptionally high standard to convey the inspiration behind it.
My manual skills have not been learned through higher education but through the long established and proven method of tuition, by way of the journeyman and apprentice, passed hand to hand. These skills include Swordsmith, Blacksmith, lost wax Sculptor, Silversmith and Jeweller.
I also worked as a Psychotherapist. I studied with the Human Givens Institute and assisted Paul McKenna Training for many years.
My own personal interests include; Cunning folk, the Craftsman’s Guilds and Folklore, Ancient Artefacts, Magic, Symbolism and Spiritual practices.
Cunning Artes is an expression of all these experiences and skills. Everything I create is designed to bring you closer to the possibility of direct contact with such things and empower those you already have.
I create what could be describe as bespoke iniquities, with every detail being specifically placed and fashioned to draw you in to your own journey of self-discovery.
